FULL NAME: Football Club Internazionale Milano (The name 'Inter' is
the abbreviation of the proper name of the club Internazionale (meaning international) and is derived from the fact that during the early 20th century the club was open to foreign players unlike the club from which the founder members of Inter originated, 'Milan Cricket and Football Club', that was dominated by Italian players).
NICKNAMES: Nerazzurri (Club Colours - Black-Blues), Biscione (Club Mascot - Big Grass Snake or Viper, the historic symbol of the city of Milano, deriving from the coat-of-arms of the Visconti family who ruled Milano between 1277 and 1395), Beneamata (Cherished - it is said that you have to be born an Inter supporter, you cannot become).
HISTORY: Founded on the 9 March 1908 as 'Football Club Internazionale' at the 'Orologio' (Clock) restaurant by a group of dissident members of the 'Milan Cricket and Football Club' after the club decided to ban non-Italian players from becoming members. In 1928 they merged with 'Unione Sportiva Milanese' to became 'Società Sportiva Ambrosiana', an imposed change in name due to the new Fascist law that banned non-Italian club names. A year later, in 1929, the name was changed to 'Associazione Sportiva Ambrosiana', but in 1932 the word 'Inter' was inserted in the name to became 'Associazione Sportiva Ambrosiana-Inter'. After World War II, in 1945, with the fall of the Fascist laws, the name was changed back to the original 'Football Club Internazionale' and continued to be used until 1967 when the current name was adapted with the insertion of the word 'Milano'.

Inter had finished third with 15 points less than the actual champions. Some years later new evidence proved that Inter were also highly involved in these malpractices but until today they still retain this title).

FULL NAME: Juventus Football Club (The name 'Juventus' means 'youth'
- Zebras), Fidanzata d'Italia (Girlfriend of Italy - The most loved and supported
Italian Club), La Vecchia Signora / La Madama (The Old Lady / The Madame - A pun since 'Juventus' means 'Youth', but they are the most successful and one of the most veteran and experienced Italian clubs), Gobbi (Hunchbacks - In Italy a hunchback is regarded as a symbol of luck, thus 'The Lucky Ones'), La Signora Omicidi (The Killer Lady - The Club with most records in Italian football).
HISTORY: Founded on the 1 November 1897 as 'Sport-Club Juventus' by a group of young students from the grammar school of the 'Massimo D'Azeglio Lyceum'. They are the second oldest club in Italy from those still active in the top divisions of Italian football. The name was changed in 1899 to 'Foot-Ball Club Juventus', but in 1936 the words 'Football Club' were dropped from the name due to a Fascist law that outlawed non-Italian words in titles, thus keeping only the name 'Juventus'. In 1944 the name was changed to 'Juventus Cisitalia' as part of a sponsorship deal with the car manufacturers Cisitalia, owned by the Juventus President, that saw all Juventus players being employed with Cisitalia and thus excluded from military prescription. In 1945, with the end of WWII the law was changed and the name was changed to the current one.
